How to create a more ‘people friendly’ Chandos Road….

Forming a community group - Chandos Futures - we opened conversations with the neighbours and the local government about how to slow traffic, increase footfall to businesses and integrate the diverse resident population…

Developing into a number of open days, Playing Out sessions and community consultations, we designed bunting, workshopped pollinator pathways, looked at different parking possibilities, the siting of seating and bike racks, plus opened a competition to decide what to paint on the road’s surface to slow traffic.

We are still in ongoing consultation with the local government - the closure of the Mayoral office has altered a lot of our focus - and we hope that this moves forward in the not too distant future, it is a slow process!

Emma can be relied upon to fulfil a task invariably with a creative uplift that explains and engages different people of all ages. Her ideas and enthusiasm continue to drive cohesion and progress.
